The Vinjanolsavam 2024, a launching ceremony for the FYUGP (Four Year Undergraduate Programme), was held at Tharananellur Arts and Science College, Irinjalakkuda, on July 1, 2024. The event was meticulously planned and executed, with various activities and speeches that underscored the importance and novelty of the new educational programme.

The programme commenced with a solemn prayer, setting a reflective and respectful tone for the ceremony. Mrs. Swathy Jayan, Head of the Department of Biochemistry, welcomed the attendees with a warm and insightful speech, expressing her enthusiasm for the new FYUGP initiative.

Principal Dr. Paul Jose P. delivered the presidential address, highlighting the innovative aspects of the FYUGP programme and discussing its potential benefits for students. He elaborated on how the programme would enhance opportunities for higher education and employability, emphasising the forward-thinking vision of the college.

The inauguration was led by Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Vattakkunnel, who captivated the audience with his inspiring speech. Quoting Malala Yousafzai, he reminded the students of the transformative power of education: “One pen, one book can change the nation.” He also addressed the critical issue of drug abuse, urging students to steer clear of such dangers and focus on their academic and personal growth.

The felicitation segment saw Mrs. Saritha Vinod, a Ward Member of Karalam Panchayath, and Mr. Kishor Kumar, PTA Vice President, sharing their thoughts. Mrs Saritha Vinod extended her best wishes for the new venture, expressing her pride in being part of such a significant event. Mr. Kishor Kumar emphasized the importance of collaboration between teachers and students to achieve academic excellence.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Rekha Ramesh, Head of the Commerce Department, who expressed her gratitude to all the dignitaries, staff, and students for their participation and support.

Following the formal proceedings, the event was enriched with vibrant cultural programmes, showcasing the talents of the students. An orientation class for the new FYUGP students and their parents was conducted by Mr. Mukesh M. E., Head of the Microbiology Department, providing valuable insights into the curriculum and expectations of the programme.

From noon onwards, attendees had the opportunity to witness the live streaming of the state-level FYUGP launching ceremony, further connecting the college community with the broader educational landscape.
